Welcome to Cook Me Healthy!

On this blog, you will find delicious recipes and fun fitness tips to lead a healthy, yummy life!
All the recipes follow the same philosophy:
*I use real food, whose ingredients I can pronounce, and cook them in the healthiest, tastiest ways possible
*I use herbs and spices to liven your taste buds in order to rely less on added sugar, salt, and fat
*Natural sweeteners such as maple syrup, honey, and sucanat are used- white sugar is used sparingly, if at all
*I cook as seasonally and locally as possible for utmost freshness and flavor
*Several recipes are vegetarian and vegan friendly
*I never deny a sweet tooth: the key to eating well is 90% healthy and 10% indulgence!
*All my food is prepared lovingly and mindfully

Beat the Sugar Blues! Free Nutrition Workshop!

Free Nutrition Workshop led by Me!
Bloomingdale Branch of the New York Public Library
150 West 100th Street, New York, NY

Can't make it? Send a friend!!

Feel like you need sugar to get through your day? Can't keep your hands out of the candy jar at work? Love the high you get from a sweet snack but feel terrible after?
Then you need to Beat the Sugar Blues!
We all have sugar cravings, but sometimes our cravings tend to control our thoughts and actions, leading us to a less healthy life than we want for ourselves. Over time, the over-consumption of sugar can have negative effects on our bodies such as weight gain, mood swings, and diabetes.
In this interactive workshop, you will learn to deconstruct sugar cravings to help you gain control of your sweet tooth without feeling deprived. You will be able to differentiate a good carb from a not-so-good carb, measure out the sugars in some common foods, and learn when a sugar craving is just that or a craving for love, stimulation, or happiness. You will also get the opportunity to reflect and share your own struggles with sugar so as to obtain more clarity into your own craving patterns, thus gaining control over them.
Learn to effectively change your relationship with sugar without feeling deprived and improve your health.
